The patient therapist begins to tell his clients what he thinks
Despite his training and ethics, he finds himself making a huge impact on people’s lives, including his own. The cast of Downsizing share the key moments that defined their characters in the first season and reveal who does the best Harrison Ford impersonation. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Siegel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Siegel said that Goldstein originally wanted a « Harrison Ford type » and was going to cast people who looked like Ford.

Siegel told Goldstein that they should have at least pitched it to Ford, thinking he would immediately decline, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had gotten the project, which would spark interest from other big-name actors. Goldstein eventually talked to Ford and convinced him to take on the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was still impressed.

Now two episodes in, this series shows promise, the chemistry between the characters is infectious and, oddly enough, sometimes even… heartwarming in a way that most shows don’t, it evokes that element of community uniquely. I’m not sure if this accurately reflects the therapist’s way of dealing with problems, but it definitely gives Jason Segel a chance to contribute. Rod, Jason’s boss and mentor of sorts.
fits this show like a glove
I wasn’t sure how his character would work in this series, but Rod’s antisocial demeanor definitely plays into the image, which Ford does well when you consider the disturbing elements of his character Han Solo in Star Wars. A little too similar, Sean (Luke Tenney) plays Jimmy’s (Siegel) son as he deals with family issues with his daughter Alice (Lucita Maxwell)… What I see here looks so bright, and the possibilities, maybe (?) endlessly when I see Jimmy explaining things.
And the music in this show is so good
By the way, the opening theme of this show is so good that I didn’t even notice when I watched episode 2… Overall, it’s a great show and I hope it only gets better from here on out.
